Auden Winslow lives in quiet grief. Saving his homeland from a plague cost him everything: his wife, his daughter, and his peace. His mourning shatters when he receives a strange jewel and an invitation from Finn, a long-lost friend presumed dead.

At the same time, destructive storms barrage his Isle, ruining homes and washing away crops. Believing the jewel holds the key to salvation, desperation drives the villagers—people he once trusted—to try and steal it, threatening his life.

To save Finn and stop the coming conflict, Auden must abandon his grief and venture into the Far North where the curse might be undone.

But the treasure’s influence spreads like poison through their company, and ancient enemies rise from the depths to claim it. As allies turn against each other in murderous greed, Auden faces an impossible choice: surrender the jewel and abandon Finn to his fate, or press on to save the friend who may already be lost, knowing the curse may consume them all before they reach the North.
